IBX (2-Iodoxybenzoic Acid) (C₇H₅IO₄) - oxidizing reagent. Oxidation of alcohols. Common uses: 1° Alcohol → Aldehyde, 2° Alcohol → Ketone, Precursor to Dess-Martin periodinane. Less soluble than DMP. Used in DMSO. Can be explosive if heated dry.
